If you gave up showering, you’d save less water than what’s required to make a single pound of beef. Not beef for a whole year, just one miserable pound. A whole year’s worth of showers takes about 5,200 gallons, but it takes 5,214 gallons to produce a single pound of beef.
If you gave up beef, you’d save over 300,000 gallons a year. A whole lot more than you could save by never showering.
I know there are going to be dumb people saying, “LOL YOU DON’T WATER MEAT”, so let me quickly break it down for you:
Cows need to drink water (Well, they’re supposed to, anyway)
Their food requires water (I know it sounds like this means that cows are being cared for, but it’s not at all)
Cleaning up the slaughterhouses requires water
Cleaning out the transport trucks requires water
Cleaning out the factory farms requires water
So, yeah. You’re contributing to ALL of this if you eat meat. And now you are aware of it. And if you do not plan on changing anything at all, you are extremely selfish and it’s just further proof that you do not care about anyone on this earth but yourself.
